
BIO
Cherrelle Crews, professionally known as Crews Control, is an American record producer, engineer, musician, songwriter, and DJ. Raised in Amityville, NY, Cherrelle's avid love of music started when she began playing drums and other percussion instruments in elementary school. Her musical interests began to grow and she eventually pursued the piano and alto saxophone. Cherrelle’s early commitment to music resulted in her becoming a very polished and accomplished musician who participated in various competitions and performances. She received numerous awards and honors including winning gold medals in the local NAACP ACT-SO competition and eventually travelled to Los Angeles, CA to compete nationally.
While in high school Cherrelle was introduced to music-making software such as GarageBand and Fruity Loops where she learned to compose and record music. This was an eye opener from her and introduction into the remarkable world of music production. She was captivated by how she could utilize her musical skills to create digital masterpieces. She soon became familiar with other software such as Logic and Pro Tools where she learned mixing skills and finally determined that she wanted to go to college to pursue a career in audio engineering. Cherrelle attended the City College of New York and received a BFA degree in music with a concentration in audio engineering in June of 2016.
Today Cherrelle has the ability to read, notate, arrange, and compose piano music, drum charts, orchestral, and band arrangements. Cherrelle dabbled with DJ’ing equipment in high school and soon became selected to DJ school and family events. She presently loves to DJ because it gives her the opportunity to combine her rhythmic and percussive musical abilities to entertain and engage audiences.
Cherrelle has been privileged to work with actress/singer Raven Symone, producing several tracks for her. In 2017, she mixed/mastered Sunday Best winner Le'Andria Johnson's "Never Would Of Made It (LIVE)." She also DJ'd and performed for Atlantic Records artist Kodak Black at his 2018 "Dying To Live" album listening party, alongside pioneer producer Stanley Brown, whom she has worked with for the past four years. In addition to her industry collaborations, Cherrelle is a Grammy-winning engineer and musician. She contributed to Cory Henry’s Church album, which won Best Roots Gospel Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards (2025), and earned prior Grammy nominations for her engineering work on tracks by Stanley Brown, Shirley Caesar, and others.
Cherrelle is the CEO of Crews Control Entertainment, a music company which provides services in every avenue that she excels in: music production, engineering, musician services, private tutoring, DJ'ing, and songwriting. Her long-term goals for the company are to market her brand nationwide and create a team of multi-talented people who will work together to help the business thrive. Her short-term goals are to focus on growing her career as an audio engineer, receive production placements and go on tour as a professional drummer.

The Producer
Crews' first DAW choice is primarily Logic Pro X, however she is just as proficient in Pro Tools, Garageband, and Fruity Loops. Crews' production foundation is heavily rooted in Christian/Gospel music, however her music catalog also ranges in Reggae, Afrobeat, RnB, Pop, Hiphop, & Trap music.
The Engineer
Crews graduated from the City College of New York in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Audio Engineering. There she attended the Sonic Arts Program, specifically designed to develop audio engineers. Crews is capable of pitch correcting, editing vocals in all genres of music, editing sound design, syncing audio to video, and much more.
The Drummer
Crews is capable of scoring drum music for a drumline, can read drum music, play all percussive instruments including congas, bongos, clave, and mallet percussion, xylophone, marimba, and vibraphone. She also plays keyboard, organ, and can read and notate music as well. Crews plays fluently in all of her keys!
The DJ
Crews has had many experiences in DJ'ing weddings, baby showers, family affairs, church events, concerts, & more. She has knowledge in DJ'ing software such as Serato DJ. During the pandemic she started her own virtual DJ'ing christian show called "Cruise With Crews" that was powered on the "Praise Your Way" platform via Facebook.
